Hunter Woodhall is the reigning 400 m Paralympic champion. Recently, the American revealed that he had undergone an emergency surgery for an extended annex and shared the story of the way unique equipment could have saved his life.

Woodhall, a paralympic five-time and double medalist of the world championships, has become famous alongside his wife, the Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall. The duo has shared glimpses in their daily life with fans.

Recently, the Sprinter recalled the story of the way his ring could have saved his life. By taking in Instagram, Hunter Woodhall shared a video of himself speaking and started by saying,

“This ring (yes) might have saved my life yesterday.”

He then detailed the whole story, explaining that he was on the way to Syracuse, in Utah, to visit his father who recently underwent an open heart operation, when he started to feel stomach aches. The sprinter initially put him in lactose intolerance due to the blue cheese he ate for his lunch, but the pain gradually worsened and continued the next morning.

He explained that his symptoms in the morning included pain in the abdomen, saying:

“When I woke up, I still had pain in my right right abdomen, which appeared as a red flag, but I thought I could simply finish it. What took me off guard was a radar of symptoms that had major signs that something was wrong in my body and I have been wearing this ring (yes) for four years and I have never seen this. It immediately took me off guard. He told me that my heart rate at rest had increased, my body temperature increased and that my VRC increased. »»

Woodhall then explained that after looking at the symptoms in his ring, he went to the hospital with his mother, where the doctors discovered that he had an enlarged annex.

“I asked my mother if she would take me to the hospital, but they did all the tests. They did my blood test. They did the urine test and everything came back negative, not good. They didn’t know what was going on, but they knew it was not good. Then, I finally made a computed tomography and looking at the computed tomography, they could see that my annex was extremely enlarged. Fortunately, I had not yet exploded, but I was going to have to do an emergency operation. »»

Hunter Woodhall put an end to the video by reassuring the fans he was going well and that he would use the next few days to recover alongside his father.
