What is the next step for Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks of South Carolina?
Dawn Staley led to the Gamecocks of South Carolina to a record of 25-3 during the 2024/25 university basketball season. Gamecocks are the reigning champions and remain the team to beat in college basketball.
Gamecocks have a stacked list with Joyce Edwards and Milaysia Fulwiley managing the score workload. They are helped by ChloƩ Kitts and Sania Feagin on the boards, while helping by a carousel of stellar guards.
Staley aims for the first time of the consecutive national championships in his career at the renowned temple. She will want her chances with such a targeted group during the current season.
The only defeats of the Gamecocks this season have been against the Texas Longhorns and Uconn Huskies. The two teams are regulars of March Madness, so there is no shame in losing in the regular season.
However, care should be taken to avoid similar performance in the playoffs. Any other reverse will see Staley and his team from March Madness.
In addition, this will deprive Dawn Staley of his fourth victory of the NCAA division I tournament. The current iteration of the Southern Carolina stars will not want this, because they are known to give everything for their beloved coach and the gamecocks badge.
