Gene Hackman’s daughter Elizabeth Jean Hackman suggested that carbon monoxide poisoning may have been the cause of death for her father and wife, Betsy Arakawa.
The 95-year-old Oscar-winning actor and his 64-year-old wife were found dead in their New Mexico house on Wednesday, February 26 alongside one of their pet dogs.
Investigation in progress, without suspected unfair playing
The authorities have not determined an official cause of death, but a spokesperson for the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Sheriff’s Office told people that the unfair game was not suspected at the moment. The gas company and the fire service inspected the property to check the toxic smoke, guaranteeing the safety of the investigators.
Elizabeth, 63, told TMZ that the family remains uncertain of the cause, but suspects a carbon monoxide poisoning as a possibility.

The authorities confirm the details of the case
The Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed that when the authorities responded for a wellness check, they discovered two living dogs, while Hackman and Arakawa were probably died for at least one day.
Hackman’s lasting heritage
Hackman, a double winner of the Oscars, retired to act in 2004 after a career covering more than six decades. In a 2011 GQ interview, he humbly declared that he wanted us to remember him as a “decent actor” who gave honest performances. When he was asked to summarize his life in a sentence, he replied, “He tried.”
