“They are not serious”-The ex-Cowboys All-Pro predicts Doom for the franchise under HC Brian Schottenheimer

 Magic Post

The Dallas Cowboys officially unveiled their 10th head coach in the history of the franchise after a very publicized research which included two important names in Deion Sanders and Pete Carroll.

In the end, the franchise decided to look inward and promote the offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for the head coach, launching a new era of Cowboys football. Fans have had mixed reactions to rental, mainly because Schottenheimer had already worked under Mike McCarthy, suggesting that the team could continue with some of McCarthy’s ideas. In addition, Schottenheimer did not call the games as an offensive coordinator, which raised new concerns.

The former broad cowboys receiver, Dez Bryant, expressed a more pessimistic vision on the hiring of Schottenheimer. During an interview on Sirius XM, Bryant shared his reflections on the rental of Schottenheimer, accusing Dallas of not being “serious” about the future:

“I had the impression that last year, the cowboys rebuilt. They proved me,” said Bryant. “When I watch Dak Prescott and this offense, I look at the things you need to succeed in this league. I don’t see it.”

“If you read between the lines and pay attention to what’s going on, the writing is on the wall. This is what I get all this.”

“Schotty simply has no experience. It’s not a blow on him. I want him to do good. We have to wait and see. My point of view? I see no success. Why sign him to A contract if you “do not put the best documents around him to succeed?”

Cowboys HC search before the rental of Brian Schottenheimer

“During their search for coach, Dallas’ cowboys were mainly linked to three names. After separating Mike McCarthy, Jerry Jones contacted Dion Sanders, who expressed the flattery but did not continue the opportunity.

The research then shrunk to the former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and to the offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

After interviewing Schottenheimer, the cowboys quickly planned a second round with their internal OC. This interview lasted longer and Jerry Jones recognized the risk of Schottenheimer’s hiring as head coach but remained optimistic about the future of the franchise.

Meanwhile, Kellen Moore is expected to become the next New Orleans head coach once the Super Bowl finished on Sunday.
