After three seasons and no appearance in a university football playoff series, the pressure rises on Brian Kelly in Lsu. The former legend of tigers and ESPN analyst, Booger McFarland, thinks that it is time for Louisiana to return to the national title.
Speaking about “Andy and Ari On3”, McFarland had a direct answer when he was asked what would look like a match of the university football playoffs at the Tiger Stadium.
“You know what? I don’t want to imagine it. I want to see it. This is what I send to BK (Brian Kelly) all the time. It’s time, you don’t want to imagine.” said McFarland.

“With each coach who comes to LSU, I tell them the same thing. I am faithful to the three letters, not to you. So, you will always get honesty on my part because I am faithful to my program and loyal because I want to see these children win and I want to see LSU succeed, “added McFarland.
Brian Kelly left Notre Dame to sign a $ 95 million contract over 10 years in 2021 with the Tigers. However, during its first three years in Baton Rouge, the tigers have not yet participated in the playoffs of university football. They played for the dry championship in 2022 but lost hands down against Georgia, 50-30.
Kelly and the Tigers finished the 2024 season with a 9-4 file, beating the Baylor Bears 44-31 in Texas Bowl. Despite the loss of certain talents, the tigers will find the quarter-arre Garrett Nussmeier and will occupy first place in the classification of the 247sport transfer portal.
Brian Kelly hopes Notre Dame will win the national championship

The departure of Brian Kelly from Notre-Dame was a controversial subject. However, the current head coach of the LSU Tigers had no problem to say to CBS Sports that he would support the Fighting Irish in the national championship match.
“I am happy for all these guys, I shoot for them,” Kelly told Brandon Marcello of CBS Sports. “I recruited a lot of guys there who are on both sides of the ball. Obviously, I want to see these guys win everything, and I think they are in an excellent position. Totally excited for these guys.
Fans reacted strongly to Kelly’s remarks. One problem is that when Kelly left South Bend for LSU, he said he wanted to go to “an environment where I have the necessary resources to win a national championship”.
While Kelly and the Tigers have not reached the CFP for three years, the Fighting Irish will face Ohio State for the national title Monday evening.
During her 11 years as Notre Dame chief traction, Kelly had competitive teams. In particular, the Irish reached the league match after an undefeated 2012 season. However, they were crushed 42-14 by Alabama.
