Tyson Fury is aiming for an unprecedented level of focus ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on December 21. The two men previously faced each other on May 18 in an undisputed heavyweight title fight. Fury was defeated for the first time in his career after losing a narrow split decision.
Before their rematch, “The Gypsy King” said he hadn’t spoken to his wife in three months as part of his preparation plan for the Ukrainian. Fury’s admission caught fans off guard, and they speculated that his decision to isolate himself from his family members could backfire.
However, leading boxing promoter Eddie Hearn believes it could have the desired effect. The Matchroom Boxing president was recently interviewed by iFL TV ahead of Usyk vs. Fury 2, where he discussed the Briton’s comments that he had no contact with his wife.
Hearn said:

“Everybody’s different, and when you had that loss, maybe he doesn’t leave anything to chance. He just says, ‘I’m going to put everything into this training camp.’ I feel like when you get in the ring, if you know that you’ve made huge sacrifices and sometimes horrible sacrifices, do you think that gives you more strength in the fight? answer is yes.”

Tyson Fury recently appeared at open workouts ahead of his scheduled rematch against Oleksandr Usyk on December 21. With the former WBC champion having already shared a chilling preview of what fans can expect from his next fight, he continued in the same vein. during its maintenance during open training.
Fury did not directly answer any of the interviewer’s questions, instead sharing his intentions for fight night:
“A lot of pain… Crushing and damage… A lot of injuries… Injuries, serious injuries… A lot of damage.”
