KARACHI: President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian issued a message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, said a message received on Friday.
The message says:
In the name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful,
November 29 is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the day of global solidarity with the courage, perseverance, quest for freedom and justice of the people who stood up with their bare hands against the most evil forces that history has known. for more than seven decades. The forces that brazenly pride themselves on taking the lives of young children, killing defenseless people, destroying homes and murdering the noblest heroes, and the worried and disbelieving gaze of people around the world do not not even slightly embarrassed.
The decision of the United Nations to designate the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is a useful but insufficient action. Last year, on this day, the number of Palestinians killed was 14,000, but now we are faced with 53,000 dead and missing and more than 100,000 injured, more than 60% of whom are women, children and elderly people. For more than a year, the people of the world have turned to the United Nations to find a solution to the genocide of the Palestinian people, to control the fire of war that has spread to other countries, and to hand over the jailer of the largest prison open to justice in the world, but unfortunately, during this period, all freedom seekers and awakened consciences of the world have witnessed the inaction of the United Nations and the impunity of terrorists who disguised themselves as statesmen preaching to others in the UN.
The current conditions in Palestine and other countries affected by the attacks of the Israeli regime prove that the most effective and quickest measure to sympathize with the Palestinian people is to curb the Zionist regime and cut off international support for this tumor cancerous. The Zionist regime has shown its lack of commitment to international norms and values by tearing up the United Nations Charter, which is a pact accepted by the organization’s members. History will record that the massive massacre of civilians, the attacks on hospitals, the deprivation of water, food, fuel and medicine against the population of Gaza, the displacement of thousands of people, the murder of journalists and employees of international organizations, and the martyrdom of legends like Martyr Hassan Nasrallah, Martyr Ismail Haniyeh and Martyr Yahya Sinwar occurred with the complicity of Western governments claiming to be defenders of human rights, in particularly the United States, and that each time efforts were made to stop the war and After the killing of children, the hand of the American representative to the UN Security Council was raised to thwart these efforts.
The Islamic Republic of Iran celebrates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, but at the same time warns against the inaction of this organization in the face of the murder of the Palestinian people. The injustices that have been perpetrated against the Palestinian people require global attention and action, while silence in the face of these injustices amounts to the normalization of evil and cruelty that will jeopardize the future of humanity. If today the United Nations and in particular the Security Council fail to find a way to respond to the crimes of the occupiers of Palestinian land, the credibility and dignity of this organization will be seriously compromised.
Today, we underline our commitment to fully support the cause of a free and independent Palestine and, in this regard, we stand with the Palestinian people. The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate with all countries committed to the principles of freedom, equality, justice and human rights, and considers the defense of the Palestinian people as a requirement of all free peoples of the world. The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to believe that the only principled solution to the Palestinian question is the return of refugees and the holding of a referendum among the original Palestinian people, including Muslims, Christians and Jews, on the basis of democratic principles and international law. Undoubtedly, in this painful and unequal battle, the final victory goes to these determined peoples whom even the largest military arsenals in the world have failed to disrupt their determination on the path to victory.
