ANTIPOLO — Seeing familiar faces on the other side, Cignal still displayed its strong bond amid the offseason exodus and swept Farm Fresh, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21, in conference play PVL All-Filipino 2024-25 Saturday at Ynares Antipolo Center.
Cignal coach Shaq Delos Santos was excited to see his former players Rachel Anne Daquis and Jheck Dionela with the Foxies, although both did not play as they are still getting back to peak form.

Former HD Spiker AJ Jingco was also among those who signed with Farm Fresh along with Chai Troncoso, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Chinchin Basas and Gen Casugod.

Another former Cignal player, Alohi Robins-Hardy, who is ineligible to play in the PVL due to the draft rules, also supported her new team Farm Fresh.

“I’m happy for them, because even though they are on the other team, they are a different team. The good thing is that before this happened, there was an adjustment, we already knows what’s going to happen So for us it’s just our mindset that the way we prepare as a team, it’s not like they’re already in another one. team,” Delos Santos said.
“Of course, we are very happy with the team’s performance. We know this is not what they want to do. We still have a lot of things to execute correctly,” he added.
Ces Molina led the collective effort of the HD Spikers with 14 points built on 11 kills and three aces to dominate Farm Fresh in 87 minutes while committing only 11 errors in the match.
The Cignal captain was happy to see Dionela, who played for Cignal for the last 11 years, and Daquis, who was the heart and soul of the team from 2017 to 2023.
“Today we are looking forward to them being able to fight, that is the case, they don’t have it yet, there is still a lot of chance for them to be able to fight because they are on the field and they are playing We are happy and proud that wherever they are, I know they will be able to contribute,” Molina said.
“Our teamwork was good today and you can see everyone played and really contributed. I’m just proud of my teammates and our coaching staff.

Jovelyn Fernandez shined in his first start as Cignal’s main opposing forward with 11 points. Rose Doria and Ria Meneses had seven points each, while setter Gel Cayuna had 16 excellent sets in addition to five points.
Alas, the Pilipinas stars also contributed for Cignal with Vanie Gandler scoring six points, seven digs and six excellent receptions, assisting libero Dawn Catindig, who had 20 digs and five receptions.
Cignal faces Chery Tiggo on Thursday at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City.
Farm Fresh banked on Trisha Tubu, the team’s only double-digit scorer with 15 points, as interim coach Benson Bocboc’s debut was spoiled by the HD Spikers.
The Foxies will face the Petro Gazz Angels on Saturday next week at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.
